Mr. Loya Art

Mr Loya works with children of all ages and abilities.  He currently teaches in Loudoun County.  He has been with Brighter Day Care for 3 years and   always has fun  activities for the children.

The value of art in a child's life is crucial.  Art helps children become more sensitive to the physical environment (for instance shape size and color); Art promotes cognitive development, increases social and emotional development. Young children who are encourages to engage in expressive art activities also gain a sense of accomplishment and grow toward achieving independence and autonomy.

Staffing is 1 staff to 4 children.  Staff members will be required to attend a training meeting in which they will learn about the child and how to provide the best day care plan for the children. Brighter Daycare will take a team approach to care.  All specialists will involve in every aspect of the child’s care.  Consistency will be the key to the success of this program.  The IEP goals will be implemented when appropriate so that the child’s behavioral and education goals can be continued after school.

Kim D'Angelo  Music Teacher

Kim D'Angelo is thrilled to be back for her second year at Brighter Day
Care.  She graduated from Youngstown State University in 2006 with a
Bachelor's Degree in Music Education.  Her focus instrument was
saxophone, but she also plays piano, guitar, flute, and clarinet among
others.  Kim's philosophy on music education is centered on helping her
students develop a lifelong love, appreciation, and understanding of
music. (And of course, it’s got to be fun!)  Typical activities in her
classes include: a variety of singing games to help students develop
both their singing and speaking voices, instrument playing to develop
coordination and rhythm, and movement activities to develop coordination
and motor skills.  She likes to operate in a positive environment to
help encourage independence and confidence in each of her students.  She
also tries to reach across the curriculum to incorporate literature and
storytelling, math, science, and any other subjects that could tie in.
Kim also teaches elementary music for Loudoun County Public Schools.
